That's two way to see on this case, both good and bad. But in what position we are in have a big significance, if we are employee or CEO. Becouse both of them have two different opinions on this.
But let us begin with the CEOs opinion.
What the CEO wants is have more control and see what the employee is doing at work. They want it to be more effective and the employee are doing that they have to do at work. If we look back in the article we can see that employers don’t always do what they are meant to do at work. In some of the example we can see that they are trying to kill the time with surf on different sites as Facebook and MySpace, but worst of all surf on hard core porn.
About the GPS thing on the cell phone is a good idea to see where the employed are. Like that example we saw about the employed that phoned sick, but the truth showed that he was driving to somewhere else is a good example to why we had to track employers.
As an employed and my own opinion in this case, I must say this is not good for either for employed or for CEO. This is more like a jail then a work place. If you have to track your employers and block theirs mail and check theirs mail or spy on them, then you don't trust on them. If you don’t believe in them, how can CEO expect them to do their work.
It’s fine that they block some sites so employees can't surf on. But block their mail so they can’t use some words or something like that is not right.
It’s no more privacy for the employed anymore. The CEO has control and can see everything, not only at work but even what they are doing at home. That’s just ridicules that can’t be legally.
If I was employee I have quit the job because CEO can see everything you do at work and at home if they want it too. They can track you with the GPS or that thing they put in the ID card. You don’t even have the right to write what you like in your own mail either that just ridiculous.
So if I have them as CEO then I don’t need a job like that and it’s not worth to put my heart in that job.

I totally agree on your comment. And I think you used good metaphers to explain your opinion: Being monitored while working feels like jail. It feels like "Big Brother is watching you" or in the 50s when supervisors where standing next to the worker with a clock!
SvaraRaderaBut today I think we are lucky to choose jobs that we really like; we want to be successful and achieve a lot, therefor we do put "our heart into the job" as you said. So I think a lot of ambitious people are working more than they should, just because they like what they do and they might also like the company or the colleagues etc. Those employees are self-motivated and do not need a camera to work harder, but would rather quit their job!

Your article is great! I agree with Kim: you used good metaphors to explain what you want to say. And I loved the expression “kill the time”, too!
SvaraRaderaAbout the subject, I think that you showed very well both positions, but I don’t agree with you and Kim about the choices of the employees. I think that people who have a job that they love are really lucky. I don’t know if in our countries there’s a different employment situation, but I think that in Italy most of the employees don’t have a job that they love. A lot of people work because they need money to live and to support their family, so not everyone has the possibility to quit their job if they don’t like it. Today It isn’t easy to find a job and you can’t afford to “be picky” about it: if you quit your job, no one guarantees you another one. Despite the working environment being oppressive, a lot of employees have to bear it: I think that this is the worst part, because a bad working atmosphere causes stress and unhappiness.
